There's no shortage of natural spaces for unforgettable family days out. Just three miles north of Marshalls Green, the Iron Age hillfort of Roundway Down is perfect for dog walks. At the top, you'll be treated to panoramic views of luscious green fields and thatched roofs of houses dotted on the horizon.
Devizes is perhaps best known for its medieval heritage and defining architectural features. The 29 individual Caen Hill Locks make lovely walks or spots for picnics with the children. In the heart of the town, there's a compact park and the charming Crammer Pond too.
From Morgan's Hill to Peppercombe Wood, there are several Wiltshire Wildlife Trust nature reserves nearby. Take a stroll through picturesque ancient orchards and woodlands to spot butterflies, garden birds and so much more.
After getting some fresh air, a trip to Wiltshire Museum will tell you everything you need to know about Devizes. Our new housing development is connected to centuries of local and regional history, with world-class collections on your doorstep. On top of that, the town's art-deco cinema is set to reopen soon.
Big days out are best finished with some quality food and drink. Head to the family-run Wadworth Brewery for hazy pale ales and honest pub grub or choose the Rowdey Cow farm café for top-notch breakfasts cooked with local produce.
