Vistry South West appoints new land director
Vistry Group has appointed Ben Jobson as its new regional land director for the south west region. He comes to Vistry ?" which builds properties for Bovis Homes and Linden Homes ?" from Persimmon where he was land director. With 10 years’ experience in the housing industry, Ben started his career in the sales department at Barratt Homes before transferring to the land team and then furthering his knowledge at an affordable housing company. At Vistry, he is based at the region’s head office in Exeter and is responsible for acquiring land for development, overseeing a team of two. Managing director, Paul Moran said: “Ben’s broad experience will help us to identify land in our chosen locations and deliver successful, well-designed developments for local communities. Ben will be a great asset to the region and we’re thrilled to have him on board.” Commenting on his appointment, Ben, 32, said: “I am delighted to have joined Vistry. It’s a very forward-thinking company, with lots of exciting projects in the pipeline and a great team at the helm. “We have a strong land bank and we’ll be continuing to look for sites of varying sizes right across the patch, which includes Cornwall, Devon, plus parts of Somerset and Dorset. We’re always looking for opportunities in and around Exeter, as well as coastal areas and development sites within a commutable distance of main towns and cities. “From a land buying point of view, Vistry is an exciting place to work as we’re acquiring sites for both Linden Homes and Bovis Homes. The company also has a Partnerships business so there are a lot more opportunities to explore and I’m really pleased to be part of this expanding region, playing an integral part in its growth.” Ben has a degree in criminology and human geography and lives in Newton Abbot with his wife, Hannah and their two boys. Before children, he played golf and football in his spare time, but he’s been busy with family life since his boys arrived! Ben added: “The work/life balance is emphasised at Vistry and it’s refreshing to be part of a company that acknowledges your time outside of work and that it’s important to be present for all aspects of your life. It motivates you even more and I’m enjoying being part of the team already.” Vistry South West is currently building in Wadebridge, Bude, Northam, Bickington, Newton Abbot, Paignton, Chudleigh, Exeter, Seaton, Axminster, Wellington and Stalbridge.
