Wildlife focus for launch of new show homes at Bollin Grange in Macclesfield

Bovis Homes has invited the Bumble Bee Conservation Trust and the British Hedgehog Preservation Society to the VIP launch of two new show homes at its canal-side location in Macclesfield.

The housebuilder is to unveil the Hazel show home and Chestnut Sales Experience Centre on Friday 1 September at Bollin Grange, which is located on a 56-acre site off Gaw End Lane, next to the Macclesfield Canal.

Pupils from local schools and representatives from wildlife charities have been invited to the special launch event, from 12pm until 3pm, on Friday.

The VIP event will be followed by a public launch on Saturday 2 September, which will feature talks on supporting wildlife.

Freya Halsall, marketing manager for Bovis Homes, said: “There has been a great deal of interest in the homes we are building here at Bollin Grange and we expect both days to be well attended. There is so much to see and hear about, that we thought it would be a good idea to spread the launch of the show homes over two days.

“We are proud of our record at Vistry Mercia of working in partnership with the British Hedgehog Preservation Society to create areas to help protect and nurture local wildlife. At Bollin Grange, we are installing hedgehog highways and wanted to invite our friends from the society along to the VIP launch.

“We have also teamed up with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and now supply bee-friendly seed packs as part of the welcome packs we provide to house-buyers. A representative from the Trust will give a talk to explain how growing flowers in gardens helps the bumblebee, a vital pollinator, survive and thrive.

“We are supporting local businesses in the area by hiring a chef for the launch events to prepare food for visitors in the show home kitchen, using produce from local suppliers. The chef will do two cooking demonstrations in the show home kitchen on both days, one with a sweet focus and one being savoury.”

Bovis Homes is building 213 properties for sale at the development, featuring a mix of two to five-bedroom houses and a two-bedroom bungalow. There will also be 93 affordable homes available for rent or shared ownership for local people.

Freya said: “Representatives from Lifestyle Interiors, the design experts who dressed the inside of the show homes, will be on site on the Friday and Saturday, to explain how they created the look and give style tips to guests.

“These fabulous new show homes will enable visitors to the development to walk inside a fully finished and furnished property to see what it might look like to live in one of these top-quality homes on this much sought-after development.”
