Work is progressing well at two Vistry Group locations in Shinfield where more than 70 per cent of the new homes for sale have been reserved.
Vistry is delivering 673 homes at Shinfield Meadows, including 563 properties for private sale and 110 affordable homes available for local people through rent or shared ownership.
To date, 225 of the private homes have been sold at Langley Mead at Shinfield Meadows under the Linden Homes brand, while 188 have been sold at Shinfield Meadows under the Bovis Homes brand.
There’s currently a range of four-bedroom houses available to reserve on the Bovis Homes site, with a choice of three and four-bedroom houses for sale at Langley Mead.
Alix Laflin, marketing manager for Vistry Thames Valley, said: “Construction work is progressing well at both of our developments in Shinfield, which are proving to be very popular as the sales figures demonstrate.
“We have found that the properties at both developments have appealed to local buyers as well as people from the Greater London area, Slough and Uxbridge who realise they can get so much more house for their money here.
“We have had lots of families moving here looking for more space and being so taken with their new home that they have recommended the development to family and friends. A real community spirit is growing at Shinfield Meadows.
“The three and four-bedroom homes are very attractive to families wanting to live in a rural location surrounded by open countryside. They like the fact that Shinfield is a lovely village on the outskirts of Reading with a character of its own and features schools for primary age children, a nursery, a post office, a number of pubs and a supermarket.
“There is a selection of other good schools in the area, while Reading town centre, with its wide range of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, is just five miles away.
“Commuters wanting to live in the country but work in the capital are well served by the excellent transport links. Reading railway station offers regular train services into London Paddington in less than half an hour and will benefit from Crossrail services. Drivers have easy access to the M4 via the nearby A33.”
There is currently a choice of four-bedroom homes available to reserve at Langley Mead at Shinfield Meadows, with prices starting at £560,000.
There’s also a selection of three and four-bedroom homes available to reserve at Shinfield Meadows under the Bovis Homes brand, priced from £462,000.
