A former soldier who started his career in the construction industry as a labourer has been appointed as a regional build director at Vistry Group.
Andy Pearce, 41, has been promoted to the role at Vistry East Midlands, based at its headquarters in Peterborough, after joining Linden Homes as a production manager in 2015.
Vistry Group was formed in 2020 and incorporates Linden Homes, Bovis Homes and Vistry Partnerships.
Andy left school at 16 and spent six years in the Army with the Royal Engineers, after which he left and got a job as a labourer at a building site.
“I quickly moved from being a labourer to being a forklift truck driver, then within six months I had been offered the chance to be an assistant site manager,” said the married father-of-three, who lives in Stamford, Lincolnshire. “It was a very rapid progression, but it was one that I wanted and one that I was confident I had the skills to deliver on.
“Once again, I worked my way up the ladder quite quickly to production manager and joined Linden Homes seven years ago in that role. With the full support of my team and the senior management team at Vistry I have continued to progress.
“My role as regional build director at Vistry East Midlands puts me in charge of all 13 developments in our region. I am responsible for the management of all of these sites to ensure they deliver top-quality new homes, hit all business and construction targets, maintain the highest levels of health and safety and keep our customers happy.
