A local house-builder has launched a new show home at its Shinfield location and is inviting Berkshire home hunters to visit and find out more about this new part of the community.

Bovis Homes has opened the doors to the two-bedroom Amberley show home at Shinfield Meadows, which joins the five-bedroom Chester and two-bedroom Southwold in providing members of the public with the opportunity to see the style and quality of the homes available at the location.

“We're really excited for visitors to see our new show home,” says Hollie Lockhart, regional marketing manager. “This is the first Amberley house type design which has been used as a show home by Bovis Homes, and we're proud to have it here at Shinfield Meadows.”

The popular location has already welcomed many residents and it is quickly becoming a close-knit community. One of the new home owners is lawyer, Annabelle Newman, who moved into an Amberley in the summer.

Annabelle said: “I was really taken with the Amberley and its open-plan layout. It felt really roomy and my plot came with a beautiful south-facing garden too, which I love.”

With an open-plan downstairs, the Amberley has a spacious kitchen, dining area and sitting room with French doors leading out into the garden. The floor also includes a cloakroom, large storage cupboard and a useful space under the stairs. The master bedroom has an en suite and the home also benefits from a study, which could also be used as a third bedroom.

With a range of purchase assistance schemes available, landing your dream home at Shinfield Meadow could be more achievable than you first thought.

“I had been renting for a long time and had started to wonder if I'd ever be able to afford my own place,” says Annabelle. “I hadn't expected a new-build home to be affordable. However, after speaking to the sales team, who took the time to explain the process to me, I was introduced to the Government's Help to Buy – Equity Loan scheme. It was then I realised I could afford to buy!”

Available only on new-build homes, to both first-time buyers and existing home owners, with Help to Buy you need just a five per cent deposit and receive an equity loan of up to 20 per cent of the value of the property from by the Government, interest-free for the first five years. Another scheme which buyers at Shinfield Meadows could take advantage of is Smooth Move, which involves Bovis Homes dealing with the estate agents on the seller's behalf, and even paying the fees when the old house is sold.
