Summer prize surprise for Upper Heyford home buyers

Dropping in at a coffee morning to meet their new neighbours, Sophie Moore and Josh Lyons ended up with a bit more than some tea and cake at Bovis Homes' Heyford Park location in Oxfordshire.

Double celebrations were in order for the first-time buyers, who had recently reserved a home at this new part of the Upper Heyford community, as they discovered they had won a £500 holiday voucher!

The couple were greeted at the sales centre by their future neighbours and sales advisor, Julie, who was delighted to announce that the couple had won the prize.

"We were so shocked when we were told! It was such a lovely surprise," says Sophie, who is due to move into her new home with partner Josh next year. "We were actually going away for the weekend and were just dropping in en-route. When Julie told us we had won the holiday voucher we couldn't believe it!"

Sophie and Josh had entered Bovis Homes' Summer Heat Wave prize draw, which involved them posing for a photo in the sales office when they visited in the summer holidays. The couple were selected from all the entries from across the West Midlands to win the holiday voucher.

"We were hoping to go to Cyprus and New York next year, so we'll probably put it towards this," says Sophie. "Or we may just have a cheeky weekend away!"

The meet-the-neighbours coffee morning gives new residents at Heyford Park the chance to meet each other and find out more about their new community before they move in.

"There were so many people there - it was really nice to meet our new neighbours and get to know them before we move there," says property manager, Sophie.

Currently living in Bicester, Sophie and Sky engineer, Josh, had decided to move to Upper Heyford for its village location and selected the three-bed Sheringham house type.

"We are so excited to move," says Sophie. "We've got a great plot and Heyford Park has already got such a great community feel to it."
