Househunters in south Oxfordshire will soon have the opportunity to buy a brand-new property from leading housebuilder Bovis Homes, after it received detailed planning for up to 116 new homes in Shrivenham.
The plans, for land off Townsend Road, include a range of 70 three to five-bedroom house for sale on the open market, and a further 46 (40%) allocated as much-needed affordable homes. Of the affordable homes, which will be owned and managed by a registered provider, a quarter will be reserved for shared ownership, while the remainder will be offered for rent.
Alongside the properties, Bovis Homes will be providing a children's play area and attractive areas of public open space. The delivery of the homes will also see the housebuilder make financial contributions towards the village hall and sports facilities as well as bus services and education provision.
Rob Stroud, associate design and planning director at Bovis Homes, said: “We're delighted to have received approval for these much-needed new homes and are looking forward to starting work to deliver them for the local community.
“We'd like to thank Vale of White Horse District Council and the local community for their support and feedback on the proposals. We're confident that these new homes will be a positive addition to the area.”
Site set-up works are planned to start in the summer, with the first residents moving in during 2019.
