New homes for Bidford-on-Avon

- 06 Sep 16

House hunters in Bidford-on-Avon will have the chance to buy a brand new Bovis Home from next year as the builder has been granted planning consent to build 150 new homes in the town.

The new development off Salford Road will include a range of properties, from two-bedroom bungalows and starter homes, to five-bedroom houses, giving great opportunities for first-time buyers, growing families and downsizers alike.

Along with a play area and open green spaces, the proposals include plans for 52 homes that will be designated as affordable housing for local people. Bovis Homes will also be funding and delivering significant infrastructure work for the benefit of all the community, including contributions towards education, library, public transport and travel initiatives.

"We are delighted to have received consent and will be working closely with the local community to deliver these much-needed new homes," says David Laight, Associate Design & Planning Director at Bovis Homes. "The development will deliver major economic benefits to the area, creating jobs and helping to boost the local property market.

"This is also an exciting opportunity for home buyers in the area," continues David. "As one of the country's leading, most established housebuilders, we create all-inclusive contemporary homes built to traditional standards, which prove popular with buyers across the spectrum. We also have a range of purchase assistance schemes to help people get moving which means, together with historically low interest rates, getting that dream home might be more achievable than you think."

With Help to Buy Equity, only a 5% deposit is required and the Government provides an equity loan of 20% of the property's value. This means that you can access a 75% mortgage, opening the door to more competitive lending rates, and is open to both first-time buyers and existing home owners.

Meanwhile Home Exchange and Smooth Move are special schemes for those looking to move that can save you time, money and stress.

Building work is due to start in the autumn, with the four-bedroom Canterbury show home scheduled to open the following summer.
