A team of runners from Bovis Homes will be putting their best feet forward to celebrate the house builder’s new sponsorship of the Basingstoke Half Marathon, which takes place this Sunday.
Bovis Homes, which opened its regional head office in the town last year, is now one of the main backers of the popular race.
“We’re delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Basingstoke Half Marathon,” says James Dunne, regional managing director. “It’s a fantastic community event, which has a reputation as one of the best half marathons in the country and we’re thrilled to be part of it.”
A group of seven colleagues from Bovis Homes will be taking on the challenge, with more staff going along on the day to cheer them on.
Felicity Edwards, race director at Destination Basingstoke, adds: “We are delighted to have Bovis Homes on board with the half marathon, and especially pleased that they have a team running the race too.
“It means they will all experience first-hand the beautiful countryside and the fabulous atmosphere the race brings to the town. Bovis Homes join a group of committed businesses rooted in the area that really know how to support our community,”
Starting at War Memorial Park, the 13.1-mile route runs through the Hampshire countryside and into a number of surrounding villages, incorporating the hills near Cliddesden and Farleigh Wallop.
