Bovis Homes seeks public views on detailed plans for new homes at Rowtree Park

House builder Bovis Homes is asking local residents to help shape their proposals for up to 1,000 new homes at Rowtree Park.

The site, off Rowtree Road on the southern edge of Northampton, was granted outline planning permission in August 2016, and includes plans for local shopping and community facilities, a new primary school and extensive public open space. The site is also allocated for development in the Local Plan (the West Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy).

Bovis Homes is now keen to gather feedback from the local community on the detail of these landscape-led plans, ahead of submitting a reserved matters planning application.

Residents are invited to a public exhibition at Blacky More Community Centre on Tuesday 4th July from 4pm to 8pm, where they will be able to view and discuss the current plans with members of the project team.

Bovis Homes Senior Project Manager, Steve Weitzel, says: "We are looking forward to this opportunity to discuss the details of our proposals with as many local people as we can. Their feedback will be vital in helping to shape the detailed design of the development and understanding how it can provide the best possible long-term housing solution for the community."

At the exhibition, Bovis Homes will present its proposed masterplan for the development, which will guide its detailed design, including proposals for a first phase to the west of Collingtree village, which will comprise around 350 of the 1,000 new homes. The layout of the development and materials used will be designed to be sensitive to the local area.
The masterplan for the site, has benefited from the involvement of Northampton Borough Council officers and a broad ranging stakeholder group, representing a number of local interests. It has also been the subject of two positive design reviews by Opun (the independent design review service for the East Midlands).

It includes plans for a network of green spaces, including new parkland, sports pitches, children's play areas, allotments, leisure routes and ecological areas, together with a re-configuration and extension of Collingtree Park Golf Course.
