SAVING YOU MONEY

Saving you money

According to the Home Builders Federation, on average, our homes are 64% cheaper to heat than an equivalent Victorian property, saving you up to £907 a year on your heating bills. With energy prices high, there has never been a better time to buy new. As well as saving on your heating bills our homes are also cheaper to run when it comes to lighting and water with a combined saving of 50% across your energy bills annually.

GREEN MORTGAGES

Green Mortgages

By buying a new energy efficient Bovis Home you could take advantage of exclusive ‘Green’ mortgage products. A mortgage lender could offer lower interest rates on properties that carry an energy performance certificate or a predicted energy assessment rating of A – C. Think of it as a reward for buyers who are purchasing an energy efficient home. All our standard homes have a rating of A or B so this type of mortgage may be ideal if you are looking to purchase a new build home.

KEEPING YOU COSY

Keeping you cosy

Unlike older properties, our homes come with high efficiency double glazing as standard, letting plenty of light and warmth in while minimising heat loss and reducing the amount of noise you’ll hear within your home. Not only do they keep you cosy they also reduce the amount of external noise that you’ll hear within your home.

Additional roof and floor insulation are among the other unseen features included with our homes that will help reduce the costs of keeping your home warm in the winter months, while also keeping you cool in the summer.

REDUCING WATER USAGE

Reducing water usage

Our kitchens and bathrooms incorporate water saving measures, without compromising on style or functionality.

These features mean our homes use up to 20% less water* than the UK average. Our taps and showers use aerated technology to provide the feeling of a strong flow, whilst using less water. Plus, our dual low flush toilets use the minimum amount of water to ensure less waste.

*Average Bovis home uses 100-110 litres/person/day compared to UK average of 140 litres/person/day according to the Energy Savings Trust

Getting around

You’ll find The Rambles just south-east of Telford, so well-placed for both road, rail or even bicycle travel. A cycle path runs through the centre of the development, so if you prefer pedals to petrol, it’s about a 30-minute ride into town. From Telford Central Railway Station and Shifnal station, both approximately 3 miles away, trains run to Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton, Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International. Trips to London Euston, via Wolverhampton take less than 2.5 hours.

Junction 4 of the M54 is approximately 3.5 miles away, Wolverhampton just 20 miles, the M6 is 19 miles and Birmingham 35 miles away. Junction 5 of the M54 is around 3 miles, leading to Shrewsbury which is an 18-mile trip.

For air travel Birmingham International Airport is about an hour, while Manchester is 1.5 hours.

A trip to the shops

Telford has an array of shops and supermarkets from independently owned local businesses, to large chain stores. The town is home to the extensive Telford Centre, the county’s largest indoor shopping mall. It boasts more than 160 retailers including several large ‘anchor’ stores from leading brands. The Centre also provides plenty of cafes and restaurants to keep you fuelled and refreshed as you shop. There’s further choice at Telford Forge where you’ll find retail giants in homeware, fashion, electronics as well eating and drinking outlets.

You’ll find convenience stores closer to home in nearby Stirchley and the popular Green Fields Farm Shop at Priorslee is a must for foodies looking for local produce. Choose from eggs, cheese, meat and vegetables, to home-made cakes and pies!

Taking time out

This beautiful county offers sport, leisure, historic homes, the stunning The Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of The Ironbridge Gorge.

There are footpaths paths linking the development to local countryside walks and the peaceful Homer Lake is only 1 mile away. If you’re a hill-walker head out on the Shropshire Way to explore The Wrekin, just 8 miles west of Telford with its breath-taking views, part of the AONB.

One of the jewels in the leisure crown is Telford’s award-winning, 450-acre Town Park offering everything from high rope adventures and golf, to playparks, bloom-filled gardens, off-road cycle routes, fishing as well as nature, wildlife and heritage walking trails.

For sport and fitness fans there are two leisure centres within a 10-minute drive of The Rambles. If you prefer cooler pursuits – Telford has its own Ice Rink plus a separate Snowboard and Ski Centre. For cinema, bowling, bingo or live music, the purpose-built Southwater Leisure provides entertainment galore as does the Telford Theatre.

You can step back in time at the amazing Blists Hill Victorian Town, a living museum with costumed characters portraying life in a 19th century, industrial village or admire the many furry and scaly creatures at Telford’s two zoos.

The River Severn runs just south of Telford through the famous village of Ironbridge, at the heart of the deep Ironbridge Gorge, home of the world’s first iron bridge. Discover the region’s history presented at the village’s Museum of the Gorge.

Education

There are six primary schools within just a few minutes’ drive of The Rambles, catering for pupils aged from four to 11-years-old and many of the town’s primaries have an OFSTED rating of Outstanding or Good.
