A donation by Bovis Homes helped make an Aylesbury primary school’s Christmas Fayre a big success.
The housebuilder, which is building new properties at its Orchard Green location in Kingsbrook, gave £300 to Kingsbrook View Primary Academy, which opened within the wider new neighbourhood in September 2021.
The Christmas Fayre was held on Saturday 3 December and featured stalls with Christmas gift ideas, hot food and drink, raffles, games and the chance to meet Santa in his grotto.
Jon Turner, headteacher at Kingsbrook View Primary Academy, said: “Our Christmas Fayre had a huge attendance, and the students all walked away with goodie bags from Santa and big smiles on their faces, which was lovely to see.
“We’re very grateful to Vistry for this kind donation which went towards buying and upgrading the gifts for Santa’s Grotto and reducing the price of entry for families. This meant that the Christmas Fayre could be an affordable experience for everyone to enjoy.
“The Christmas Fayre is a great way to get people together and in the community spirit. This year, the event helped us to raise over £1000 for the school, which will go towards subsidising educational trips and visits and an outdoor classroom for the students.”
Kingsbrook View Primary Academy is located off Bellingham Way, within walking distance of Orchard Green, where Vistry is building homes under the Bovis Homes and Linden Homes brands.
Alix Laflin, marketing manager for Vistry Thames Valley, said: “I’m glad the pupils had a good time at the Christmas Fayre, and that they were given some lovely presents from Santa.
“We are committed to helping the local community as the new homes at Orchard Green take shape, and it’s wonderful to hear that our donation helped make the school’s Christmas Fayre more affordable for families.”
Bovis Homes is building 58 private homes at Orchard Green and Linden Homes will be building 57 private properties, with a further 23 homes provided as affordable housing across the scheme.
