A local housebuilder helped support an appeal to purchase 50 slow cookers for the community through The Vale Pantry in Sturminster Newton.
Bovis Homes supports many community initiatives near to its developments and is creating homes locally at Blackmore Meadows in Stalbridge.
Kim Voizey from The Vale Pantry commented: “We are open six days a week and assist people in North Dorset who are struggling by offering a range of fresh, chilled, frozen and staple foods. Our volunteers also provide support by signposting people to different agencies for help with issues such as debt, health, housing and benefits.
“We are incredibly grateful for Bovis Homes’ contribution towards the 50 slow cookers. According to the Energy Saving Trust, a slow cooker is one of the most energy efficient kitchen appliances and draws a similar amount of energy as a standard light bulb. Not only will they help families in reducing their energy bills, but the slow cookers will ensure they can provide warm, healthy, low-costs meals on a regular basis.”
Emma Smith from Bovis Homes said: “Winter can be a particularly difficult time of the year and with the rise in energy prices we wanted to help make things a bit easier. We’re pleased to contribute towards the slow cookers and support The Vale Pantry, which provides excellent support to the local community.”
