A popular West Midlands cricket club has received sponsorship from one of the UK's leading home builders, helping it to purchase a new electronic score board.
Bovis Homes are building new homes just down the road from Shifnal Cricket Club at Iddleshale Gardens and were delighted to step in to support the club to provide their new state-of-the-art equipment.
Bovis Homes Sales Advisor, Amanda Flint, met with Club Secretary, Trevor Tarran in the Iddeshale Gardens sales office to hand over the £500 cheque.
"We're delighted to have been given the opportunity to sponsor the club, which plays a major role in the life of the local community," says Amanda.
"Bovis Homes understand that organisations such as Shifnal Cricket Club are important to local people, and we are proud to support them. We wish them all the best for next season and hope the scoreboard will be recording lots of Shifnal victories!"
Chairman of Shifnal Cricket Club, Jonathan Kidson, says: "We are pleased to welcome Bovis Homes to our network of sponsors as we continue to invest sponsorship money in developing our facilities to the highest possible standard. We look forward to a long association with Bovis Homes."
The cricket club, which is firmly established in the Birmingham Cricket League, runs teams for men and women, as well as having a vibrant junior section for seven to 16-year-olds. During the summer, younger players are given the opportunity to compete and improve their skills with junior matches and training at the club's pitch on Priorslee Road.
Bovis Homes is proud to be joining forces with the cricket club as it becomes part of the Shifnal community, with the new Iddeshale Gardens development located on the outskirts of the historic Shropshire market town.
The Iddeshale Gardens location is a mixture of three, four and five bedroom homes which has already generated a lot of interest from house hunters in the area. The popular location has two stunning show homes open for visitors to view - the five-bedroom 'Chester' and the three-bedroom 'Southwold'.
