Work on new Bovis Homes in Oundle passes key milestone

The foundations have now been laid for all the homes being built at Bovis Homes’ Cotterstock Meadows location in Oundle, which is bringing more than £1.5 million investment in local infrastructure.

Bovis Homes is building 130 properties at the development, off Cotterstock Road, with 11 of these already completed and occupied by their new owners and a further two homes set to be handed over in the coming weeks. More than half of the homes at the development have now been reserved.

Fraser Hopes, managing director at Bovis Homes East Midlands, said: “This new neighbourhood in Oundle is now really taking shape, with construction progressing well and all foundations laid across the site.

“It is great to see families already making their home at Cotterstock Meadows, starting the process which will see the development transformed from a collection of houses into a vibrant new community, where people live their lives.

“Following the success of an open house weekend held earlier this month, we have now sold 50 per cent of the homes we’re selling at Cotterstock Meadows. We have now released a further selection of homes for sale, including the two-bedroom Holly, four-bedroom Aspen, and four-bedroom Juniper house types.

“Buyers appreciate the fact that construction of their new home is being overseen by our award-winning site manager Piet Cloete, who this year won his fifth Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National House Building Council for the excellence of his work.”

Bovis Homes is making significant contributions towards the local area as part of the planning agreement for Cotterstock Meadows. These include £1.3 million towards education, £130,000 for public transport, £86,000 for cycle paths, £49,200 for local health care provision and £29,000 to libraries.

Fraser said: “The significant investment Bovis Homes is putting into local services at Cotterstock Meadows will see improvements into many aspects of the fabric of the daily life of Oundle, which will benefit residents old and new alike for years to come.”

One family who are already enjoying life in their new five-bedroom home at Cotterstock Meadows are Daniel and Lisa Williams, along with their three daughters – Ashleigh, nine, Amelia, six, and Josie, three.

Daniel, a programme manager, said: “There is a primary school a short walk from the site, and a secondary school very close by too. Lisa is able to drop the girls off at school on the way to work which is very suitable.

“As well as nearby schools, we also have a library just down the road, as well as a Co-op, Tesco and Waitrose all less than a five-minute drive away. We used to drive from our old house to Barnwell Country Park with the girls – now it is on our doorstep, and we love visiting it on weekends.”
