A local housebuilder is helping to lay foundations in grassroots football by supporting Wellington AFC.
Bovis Homes is creating new homes at Monument View in Wellington and donated £445 to help the club and its players.
Formed in 1892, Wellington AFC is a three-star FA accredited club and runs more than 30 teams, providing football for hundreds of men, women, boys and girls throughout the season.
There are five senior sides, as well as 30 teams in the youth and minis section – with both boys and girls playing from the age of eight right through to 18. There is also coaching for even younger children and the club has a thriving disability section.
Chairman Mike Hall said: "We are very grateful to Bovis Homes for the support. Our commercial sponsors help us to provide football for all ages and play an important role in the local community."
Yvonne Truter from Bovis Homes said: “We’re delighted to support the club and the incredible opportunities it provides for the local community. Wellington AFC is a great facility and we’re pleased to be able to help so extra costs are not passed onto the club or players’ families.”
