People in Stow are being given the chance to help design and shape a new development of around 160 new homes and associated community facilities on land off Oddington Road.
Bovis Homes have drawn up proposals for the site adjacent to the King Georges Field and are seeking feedback from the local community in order to refine the plans ahead of submitting a full detailed planning application to Cotswold District Council in the New Year.
The consultation includes a public exhibition at St Edward's Hall on Wednesday 19th December from 2pm to 8pm where the plans will be on display and members of the project team will be on hand to discuss the proposals. Around 300 invitations to the event have been distributed to residents in the vicinity.
A special consultation website will go live on the day after the exhibition.
"We believe that working in partnership with the local community results in better developments and we are looking forward to meeting the residents and discussing the proposals with them," said Bovis Homes South West Strategic Land Director Nevin Holden.
"We've had positive discussions with Stow Town Council about the plans which I believe will be of great benefit to the local area, providing much-needed brand new homes for the town as well as boosting the local economy.
"Our vision is to create a high-quality, sustainable new neighbourhood for local people with a broad mix of new homes that will complement and enhance the surrounding area.
"We're keen to incorporate ideas and comments wherever possible and as part of the planning application we will produce a Statement of Community Engagement which will show how the consultation has helped shape the final plans."
