Sales Advisor, Kerry Thatcher, based at The Chase in Wincanton, Somerset, can give a strong seal of approval for the new homes she sells there. because she bought one herself!
After working in the pub trade for nearly 20 years, Kerry and husband, Richard, had originally moved back into their old property in Peasedown St John, which they had been renting out, but felt that it was too small.
"We had so much space at the pub and our house just didn't seem big enough for us, so we decided to move," explained Kerry. "We looked around the area we were in, but felt that the prices were too high for what we were getting."
Kerry had previously sold homes for another house builder 17 years ago, and when she left the pub business, started working as a Sales Advisor for Bovis Homes at The Chase.
She continued: "I was really impressed with the quality of the builds there and the area was lovely, surrounded by countryside. Richard was coming up to retirement age and we had nothing holding us to the town we were living in so I suggested moving to The Chase and he thought, 'why not?'"
The couple decided to up sticks from the town on the outskirts of Bath and relocate an hour south to Wincanton, where they moved into the four-bedroom Evesham.
"We were torn between two house types, but settled on The Evesham as the layout really suited us," said Kerry. "We didn't need a study, so that gave us more space downstairs and the extra bedrooms are perfect for when the grandchildren come to stay,"
The Evesham includes a large kitchen with a separate dining room and a sitting room with French doors to the garden. Upstairs there is a bathroom and four bedrooms, including a master bedroom with fitted wardrobe and an en-suite.
"The home just ticked all the boxes for us and it has given me great knowledge of the local area which I can pass on to customers - and I'm only a few minutes away from work too!"
