Kit boost for young Stourport team

A Worcestershire-based youth football team is sporting a fresh new look this season thanks to a donation from local house builder Bovis Homes.

Rock Sports Rovers Under 8s is a new team, based in Stourport-on-Severn, and the people behind the club have been working hard to get all the equipment they need ahead of the new season.

That hard work has now paid off, thanks to a donation of £800 from Bovis Homes, who will supply the boys' new red and white away kit for the coming season. The company has a number of new homes locations nearby, including the new Millwood Meadows development in Redditch, and is keen to support youth initiatives in the area.

Carina Wilde, regional marketing manager for Bovis Homes' Mercia region, said: “We're always happy to support local projects close to the communities in which we build if we can, and it's great to see the team looking the part in their new kit.

“Clubs like this are vital for bringing local people together and help keep youngsters active and entertained. We wish them all the best for the rest of the season,” she added.

David Harris, coaching assistant at Rock Sports Rovers and National Key Account Manager for Moores Furniture Group who work closely with Bovis Homes at its developments across the country, said: “We're very grateful to Bovis Homes for their support. Our team is brand new and we've had to work very hard to gather together training equipment, and the support of partner organisations like Bovis Homes and Moores [who also donated to fund a home kit for the squad] have been key. The team are delighted with their new kit, and they really look the part.”

Moores Furniture Group is a key supplier of high quality kitchens to Bovis Homes. The two businesses have a long-standing relationship which includes collaborations on community projects such as this.

The football team are part of the Rock Sports Youth Football Club, which is affiliated to the Worcestershire FA and has been well established since 2003. They play at the local St Wulstans Catholic Primary School, which many of the team attend.

A range of three to five-bedroom properties are currently being built at Bovis Homes' Millwood Meadows location, with the first homes available to purchase off-plan now.
