There'll be no more playing in 'hand me downs' for eager members of the Club's Under 12s and Under 7s teams this season. For the Bovis Homes sponsorship has enabled club managers to splash out on brand new yellow and blue shirts, shorts and socks, imported especially from Italy.
Junior Club Chairman Dave Sharred, said: "We've got about 40 boys in these teams and they have never had new kit of their own before. Of course it's in the proper club colours with the company logo too and looks very good, so they are really excited."
Since the Junior Club was launched seven years ago with just five boys and four dads it has gone from strength to strength and now boasts around 140 boys and 13 different squads, with teams catering for Under 7s right through to Under 16s. They play at Cringleford Recreation Ground
Dave said: "The Club is run entirely by parents and volunteers and we have to find the cost of the kit and equipment ourselves. We do quite a bit of fundraising during the year, but funding like this from Bovis Homes is essential to us and we are really pleased. We always make the most of our kit and it's passed down through the years and teams, so for the Under 12s and Under 7s to be wearing brand new team kit is a real treat!"
Bovis Homes Sales Advisor at Round House Park, Cringleford, Katrina Donovan said: "As a major developer here in Cringleford it's important we support the community in which we're building. This sponsorship is benefitting both children, young people and the volunteer parents from Cringleford who are doing great work with the Junior Football Club. We wish both the players and managers all the very best for the new season."
