Getting around
The Landings is just off the A361 and is less than two miles from Braunton, five miles from Barnstaple and ten miles from Ilfracombe. The A361 leads to Junction 27 of the M5 via the North Devon Link Road. From Barnstaple the A39 links the area to Exmoor to the north and south to Bideford and Clovelly, plus Bude in north Cornwall. Trains run to many UK destinations from Barnstaple via Exeter, while National Express runs coaches to London via Taunton, calling at Braunton. For air travel Exeter Airport is 57 miles and Bristol 91 miles.

A trip to the shops
Braunton has many local shops and services including a Co-op, Tesco and independent supermarket. Five miles way at Barnstaple you'll find a Sainsbury's, Tesco Extra and retail parks. Barnstaple's historic Pannier Market offers crafts, antiques and local produce six days-a-week and for fresh fish, bread, cakes and treats you can visit Butcher's Row opposite. Green Lanes Shopping Centre offers more than 30 stores which include many popular national brands, while the High Street has a Boots, M&S, WH Smith amongst others. Just 15 miles away, the Atlantic Village Outlet Centre near Bideford has more than 30 discount stores offering top brands such as Gap, Denby, M&S and Saltrock.

Taking time out
A home at The Landings gives you access to sea, sand, surf, cycling, walking, golf and horse-riding. Nearby Baunton Sands is an international-standard surfing beach, with both Croyde and Woolacombe close by making this area a hub for the UK's best surf. North Devon is famous for its beautiful beaches and coves; Braunton Burrows is the largest sand dune system in England. With Exmoor to the north and Dartmoor to the south, there is no better place for countryside living! The South West Coastal Path and the Tarka Trail pass through Braunton and Barnstaple, which offer village pubs, award-winning fish and chips, the Queen's Theatre and the North Devon Leisure Centre. The area offers sealife and wildlife safaris, days out to magnificent Lundy Island and all-ability fishing expeditions. Art lovers can marvel at world-renown artist Damien Hirst's Verity, in Ilfracombe Harbour.

Education
Braunton's schools provide education for children aged 5 to 16 years. Kingsacre Primary School, Caen Primary School and Southmead Primary are all rated 'good' by Ofsted. Braunton Academy is a mixed secondary school as is Ilfracombe Academy, a special arts school and sixth form. Petroc College offers courses ranging from A Levels, apprenticeships and vocational training to degree programmes.

  • On approaching Barnstaple and Whiddon Valley take the first exit at the roundabout onto the A361 signposted Bideford and Bude
  • Go straight over at the next roundabout to continue on the A361
  • Take the second exit at the next roundabout signposted Barnstaple to stay on the A361
  • Go straight over at the next roundabout and at the traffic lights turn left onto Braunton Road
  • Follow this road for approximately 5 miles and The Landings will be found on the left hand side.

  • Follow the A39 to Barnstaple
  • At Lake Roundabout take the first exit onto the A361 signposted Barnstaple and Ilfracombe
  • Go straight over at the next roundabout and at the traffic lights turn left onto Braunton Road
  • Follow this road for approximately 5 miles and The Landings will be found on the left hand side.
