Getting Around

Furrowfields is just 8 miles from Leamington Spa and about 2 miles from Junction 12 of the M40. This places it just 14 miles from Banbury, 17 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon and 24 miles from Coventry. There are regular local bus services from Bishops Itchington to Southam and Leamington Spa. For rail commuters, trains from Banbury offer regular services that take just over an hour into London Marylebone. Alternatively, Leamington Spa offers trains to Birmingham about every half hour. For air travel, Birmingham Airport is 32 miles away.

A trip to the shops

Bishops Itchington has a grocery shop and newsagents offering all the essentials, and ten minutes' drive away Southam has a range of shops and services and a weekly market. In fact one of the UK's largest outdoor markets is held just 11 miles away at Wellesbourne. For serious supermarket shopping there's an Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's at Leamington Spa, along with an impressive selection of specialist boutiques and high street stores within The Royal Priors shopping centre and Regent Court. At Leamington Shopping Park there are 18 retail giants including Argos, Next, TK Maax and Debenhams. If you fancy some designer shopping, Bicester Village is only half an hour's drive, or you could hop on a train for Birmingham's Bullring.

Taking time out

Enjoy a relaxing evening at your local, the Butchers Arms, or try one of the many restaurants and pubs in Southam and Leamington Spa. The village has its own football club, tennis courts, youth club and children's play area while Southam Leisure Centre has a gym and swimming pool. The nearby River Itchen and surrounding countryside is perfect for walking, cycling and horse-riding, and the tranquil Bishops' Bowl Lakes are popular with anglers. Treat yourself to a performance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford, or see the latest blockbusters at the Vue Cinema in Leamington Spa. For a wheely great day out visit the world's largest collection of historic British cars at the British Motor Museum, that's less than 4 miles away.

Education

Bishops Itchington Primary School is just half a mile from Furrowfields and caters for pupils aged from 4 to 11 years and includes the Ladybirds Pre-School for children aged from 2 to 4 years-old. For senior pupils Southam College is a comprehensive school with sixth form for 11 to 18-year-olds. There are two grammar schools, Stratford Girls Grammar and King Edward VI for boys in Stratford-upon-Avon and there are several independent prep schools in the area. These include Warwick School, The Kingsley School in Leamington Spa, Stratford Prep School in Stratford-upon-Avon.
