Waterbeach is less than eight miles from the historic university city of Cambridge. The A10 skirts the village and runs from King's Lynn in Norfolk, through Ely, Cambridge, ending in London city centre. From Cambridge take junction 11 of the M11 for the M25 and London. Trains from Waterbeach Railway Station run to Cambridge in just ten minutes and on to London's King's Cross, in an hour. Buses run regularly to Cambridge, and Ely. Cambridge International Airport is only six miles.
A trip to the shops
There are two local stores in Waterbeach and a bakery. The nearest supermarket is a Tesco superstore at Milton, 4.5 miles and you'll find Sainsbury's, Asda, Aldi and Waitrose in Cambridge. The city offers everything from the All Saints Garden open-air market, to quirky boutiques, high street brands and designer stores. Grand Arcade has more than 60 shops including a flagship John Lewis store. The Grafton has high street and fashion stores including a Debenhams and the out-of-town Burwash Manor at Barton boasts chic country shopping. Cambridge Retail Park features national giants such as Homebase, Currys PC World, Argos, Halfords, Next and TK Maxx.
