Getting around
Long Buckby is just a few miles from the A5 from which you can reach junction 18 of the M1. The M1 provides links to the M45 and A45 to Coventry and the East Midlands, and the M6 to Birmingham. Long Buckby railway station is close by and operates regular services to Northampton in 12 minutes*, Birmingham New Street in 55 minutes* and London's Euston station in 1 hour and 20 minutes*. Northampton is only a 15 minute trip and Euston just over 90 minutes. Local buses also run to Daventry and for international travel Birmingham Airport is about 40 miles and East Midlands Airport about 45.

Within half a mile of Buckby Meadows, Long Buckby High Street boasts an array of local shops catering for most essential needs including supermarkets, a post office, pharmacy, newsagents, butchers and florist. A Village Market is held every Thursday. A short trip to Daventry offers independent boutiques and twice-weekly markets, while for serious shopping Northampton's Grosvenor Shopping Centre has nearly 60 stores including major brands such as House of Fraser, WH Smith and Superdry under one roof, plus a popular traditional market.

Taking time out

Take a scenic stroll along the Grand Union Canal at nearby Long Buckby Wharf, or visit one of the 4 local pubs. From Northampton

  • Take the A428 towards Rugby
  • Turn left onto the B5385 towards Long Buckby
  • Arrive in the High Street, Long Buckby and bear left onto Station Road
  • Buckby Meadows can be found a short distance ahead on the right hand side

From M1 Junction 16 (from the South)

  • Leave the M1 at junction 16, then at the roundabout take the exit onto the A45 towards Daventry
  • At traffic lights turn right onto the A5 towards Hinckley
  • At Long Buckby Wharf Junction turn right onto Long Buckby Road towards Long Buckby
  • Continue onto Station Road for approximately 1 mile
  • Buckby Meadows can be found a short distance ahead on the left hand side

From M1 Junction 18 (from the North)

  • Leave the M1 at junction 18, then at the roundabout take the exit onto the A428 towards Northampton
  • Follow the signs for Long Buckby for approximately 6.5 miles
  • Turn right towards Long Buckby onto the B5385
  • Arrive in the High Street, Long Buckby and bear left onto Station Road
  • Buckby Meadows can be found a short distance ahead on the right hand side
