Getting around

Ribbans Park is just off the A1189 that links to the A14 ring road and on to the A12 for Colchester - 23 miles and to junction 28 of the M25 - 60 miles. Head north on the A14 for Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge, or take the A12 for Lowestoft and the Norfolk coast. For train travel Ribbans Park is less than one mile from Derby Road Railway Station with services to London's Liverpool Street - taking from one hour ten minutes - and to Cambridge and Norwich. Ipswich is only 54 miles from Stansted Airport and 12 miles from the busy port of Felixstowe.

A trip to the shops

Ipswich town centre offers you an excellent mix of department stores such as M&S and Debenhams, smaller independents and specialist shops. Buttermarket and Sailmakers centres offer more than 40 stores and there are regular outdoor street markets including the popular Cornhill market. For supermarket shopping you'll find a full range including Waitrose and Sainsbury's. At Suffolk and Orwell Retail Parks you'll find many famous national brands.

Taking time out

Ribbans Park is adjacent to the scenic St Clements Golf Club and is one of several local courses. Ipswich prides itself on its culture from musicals at the New Wolsey Theatre, to live art, dance and entertainment at the Ipswich Regent Theatre and Corn Exchange. Enjoy outdoor arts and music festivals at the stunning Waterfront or stroll around the 67 acre Holywells Park. Explore local history at Ipswich Museum, or take a boat trip up the River Orwell from Neptune Marina. View works by Gainsborough and Constable at the Tudor Christchurch Mansion and Wolsey Art Gallery or sports fans can watch Ipswich Town FC at its Portman Road stadium. Crown Pools offers swimming, fitness and gym. For days out The Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is less than ten miles offering wildlife, coastal walks and nature reserves.

Education

Rose Hill Primary, Murrayfield County Primary and Cliff Lane Primary Schools are all close toRibbans Park and cater for pupils aged between 5 and 11 years. Murrayfield also runs a morning nursery for youngsters aged three and over. For senior pupils Copleston High School, an academy offering secondary education for those aged 11 to 18 years, is only half a mile away. St Alban's Catholic High School for 11 to 18s, also has academy status and a sixth form and is less than 2 miles. For further education Suffolk New College is about 1.5 miles and Suffolk University at Neptune Quay, offers higher education for undergraduate and mature students.

From A12 south

  • At the roundabout take the 3rd exit on to the A14 eastwards
  • Merge onto the A14 at junction 55
  • Continue for about three miles crossing Orwell Bridge
  • After one mile leave the A14 at junction 57
  • Exit onto Nacton Road, A1189 towards Ipswich
  • Continue on the A1189 for just over one mile
  • At the fifth roundabout take the 1st exit onto Foxhall Road
  • Ribbans Park can be found on the right.

From A12 north east, Woodbridge

  • Head south on the A12 for approximately 5 miles passing through four roundabouts
  • At the fifth roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Foxhall Road
  • Continue along Foxhall Road for about 3.5 miles
  • Go straight over the roundabout with the A1189
  • Take the 3rd left into Ribbans Park.
