A taste of local life

Wrenbury situated in East Cheshire enjoys being part of some the UK's best kept lawns and borders and an endless list of beautiful scenery and walks to experience. Cheshire is known for having a number of quaint market towns of which many are within close proximity of Wrenbury. With a rich legacy of historic buildings protected through conservation areas, outstanding schools and high quality retail, Cheshire is a fine place to live.

A trip to the shops

Wrenbury village has its own grocer, newsagent, post office and off licence. Nantwich around 6 miles away serves everyday supermarket needs as well as a wealth of specialist shops and restaurants. For city shopping Chester is around 20 miles with The Grosvenor Shopping Centre having more than 60 stores including national retailers. Nearby unique independent shops and indoor markets with more than 50 stalls at the two tiered galleried Rows.

Time out

Wrenbury has many sports facilities with a bowling green, tennis courts, football pitches, multi-use games area and a pavilion. Local clubs for all ages are run at the village hall and for youngsters there is a well-equipped playground. The two village pubs are both near the Shropshire Union Canal, a peaceful waterway with three, Grade II listed bridges. The Cheshire Cycleway also passes through Wrenbury and for walkers the South Cheshire Way is close by as is the River Weaver. You can see national performers and productions at Crewe's Lyceum Theatre, or latest blockbuster films at Crewe's Odeon Cinema. For water lovers you can take the plunge at Whitchurch Swimming Centre's 25 metre pool.


Wrenbury Primary School caters for pupils aged from 4 to 10 years dating back to 1876 and its original building is Grade II listed. For senior pupils there is the Brine Leas School at Nantwich, an Academy comprehensive taking pupils 11 to 18, as does Malbank School and sixth Form College also in Nantwich. South Cheshire College at Crewe offers a range of courses and qualifications for students over 16, adults, apprentices and professionals.

  • Take the A500 for Nantwich and Chester
  • At Meremoor Moss roundabout continue on the A500 Basford - Hough - Shavington Bypass
  • At Weston Gate roundabout continue on the A500 bypass
  • At the third roundabout continue on the A500 for a further 2 miles
  • At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Newcastle Road A51
  • Stay on the A51, turning left into Elwood Way
  • Continue straight ahead, on A530, Peter Destapleigh Way
  • Continue on A530 for just under 4 miles
  • Turn right into Wrenbury Heath Road
  • Turn left onto Nantwich Road
  • Continue through the village, past the Cotton Arms pub into Cholmondeley Road
  • Marbury Meadows will be found on the left hand side


  • Take the Tarporley Road out of Whitchurch B5476
  • At the roundabout continue on Tarporley Road, A49
  • Continue on the A49 for approximately 5 miles turning right into Wrenbury Road
  • Continue for nearly three miles onto Cholmondeley Road
  • Marbury Meadows will be found on your right hand side
