Getting around
Wellington Park is just 4 miles south of Banbury and within 7 miles of the M40 Junction 11, linking the area to Birmingham and the Midlands in the north and to Oxford and London to the south. There is a local bus service and National Express run coaches from nearby Banbury to other towns and cities. Trains run from the mainline station at Banbury to Warwick, Birmingham, Oxford and London Marylebone which is only around an hour away. For air travel Birmingham Airport is just over 40 miles away and Coventry around 35 miles.

A trip to the shops
Bloxham has a range of village shops and facilities including a supermarket, delicatessen, post office and chemist. Banbury town centre is just 4 miles away and offers a choice of national names as well as local and independent shops, including The Castle Quays shopping centre that has an unusual canal side setting and around 85 stores and restaurants to choose from. Regular markets are held in the town centre including the popular monthly Farmers' Market. A little further afield the University City of Oxford is about 26 miles away with a wide variety of larger stores alongside historic areas such as the 18th century covered market for a different shopping experience.

Taking time out
The area is set on the edge of the Cotswolds with its stunning countryside, many delightful towns and villages to explore as well as Oxford - 'the city of dreaming spires' famous for its architecture and many attractions. Bloxham itself is a delightful village with Saxon origins, connections to the wool trade and retains many historic buildings and streets. The 14th century parish church, St Mary's is reputed to have the tallest spire in Oxfordshire. Bloxham has a vibrant community with a range of local groups and events including an annual festival, a museum and several traditional village pubs. Nearby Banbury offers the The Spiceball Leisure Centre that is great for swimming, gym, sports and fitness activities and the Spiceball Country Park is a popular place to relax.

From M40 Junction 11

  • Take the A422 towards Banbury
  • At the second roundabout take the first exit onto the A4260 Concord Avenue
  • At the next roundabout take the second exit onto Cherwell Drive
  • At the second roundabout take the third exit onto Castle Street
  • Turn left onto the A361 and continue for approximately half a mile over the Banbury Cross roundabout
  • Turn right onto the A361 Bloxham Road and follow for approximately 3 miles into Bloxham
  • At the roundabout take the first exit onto Barford Road and Wellington Park will be found on the left

From Oxford (Pear Tree roundabout)

  • Take the A44 towards Kidlington, then onto the A4260
  • Continue to follow the A4260 for approximately 14 miles
  • At Deddington turn left onto the B4031 Hempton Road
  • After approximately 1.5 miles turn right following the Hempton Road
  • Continue through the village of Barford St Michael onto the High Street which becomes Bloxham Road and then Barford Road
  • Follow Barford Road for approximately 1 mile towards Bloxham village and Wellington Park will be found on the right
