Less than two miles from the county town of Bedford with its excellent transport links. Bedford has a choice of local schools, community, leisure and sports facilities and great shopping and restaurants.
The A4280 provides Bovis Homes Kings Field with a direct route into Bedford, less than two miles away and to the town's railway station just one mile away. From there, trains run regularly to London St Pancras, a trip of about 40 minutes. Junction 13 of the M1 is approximately 12 miles away, linking to the M25 and London to the south, or north to Milton Keynes and Northampton. Regular buses run from Biddenham to Bedford and Milton Keynes. For air travel Luton Airport is 30 miles away.
A trip to the shops
There are small convenience stores and a Sainsbury's supermarket just over one mile from Kings Field. Take a ten minute drive to Bedford, a vibrant town where independent quality shops sit alongside major retailers and leading department stores. The Harpur Centre has more than 30 stores under one roof and regular markets are held in St Paul's and Harpur Squares offering gourmet foods, farmers' produce, crafts, home and garden goods. South of the centre you have the Alban and St John's Retail Parks and 16 miles away at Milton Keyes thecentre:mk has more than 100 retailers with major department stores, leisure and entertainment all under one roof.
Taking time out
Take a boat trip along the River Great Ouse from Bedford, or enjoy the town's riverside walkways and restaurants. Bedford Castle Mound and Embankment offers stunning river views. For film and fitness Aspects Leisure has a Cineworld and gym. Bedford Golf Club is only a 'drive' away from Kings Field and there's an International Athletics Stadium and rowing and kayak clubs in Bedford with water sports at Box End Park. Priory Country Park is one of three in Bedford with Green Flag Status, offering walks, wildlife, fishing, boating, play areas and bird-watching.
There are three schools at Biddenham with St James' Church of England VA Lower School catering for 4 to 9-year-olds and St Gregory's RC Middle School taking pupils from 9 to 13. Biddenham Upper School and Sixth Form caters for senior pupils as does Bedford's International School and Sports College, a state comprehensive with Sports College status for 11 to 19-year-olds. The Robert Bruce Middle School in Kempston caters for pupils aged nine to 13. The four independent Harpur Trust schools, Pilgrims School, Bedford School, Bedford Girls' School and Bedford Modern School offer education for pupils aged 3 months to 18 years.
