Five tireless cycling pals from Gloucestershire have beaten the odds by riding from London to Paris and smashing their fundraising target for charity.

The team of parents, called 'Tour de Friends', cycled 300 miles in four days, overcoming a tyre puncture and a rider fall, and have so far raised more than £7,500 for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity.

The Government’s Help to Buy scheme was first introduced in 2013 and since its introduction, there has been just under 170,000 people who have used it - and it is continuing to help make that dream move possible for buyers across the county.

Housebuilder Bovis Homes will bring 84 much-needed new homes to Bishops Itchington in Warwickshire, after plans were given the green light.

The reserved matters proposals, for land off Knightcote Road, were approved by Stratford-on-Avon District Council’s planning committee. They will see Bovis Homes deliver a total of 55 one to five-bedroom homes for sale on the open market, including a number of bungalows, in line with local housing need. The company will also build 29 properties which are designated as affordable, to be managed by a local housing association.

The Warwickshire Federation of the Women’s Institute is celebrating 100 years since it was established, and to commemorate the occasion, local members gathered to plant a tree at a flourishing new part of the Radford Semele community.
