Getting Around

Paulton is ideally placed with direct access to Bristol, Bath and Wells. Bristol is approximately 12 miles north-west on the A37, while the Spa city of Bath is about 10 miles north-east on the A39. The cathedral city of Wells is less than 12 miles south on the A39. The nearest train and coach stations are both in Bath, while air passengers can fly from Bristol International Airport, approximately 16 miles away.

A trip to the shops

Paulton has a number of local shops providing day-to-day essentials, plus a Tesco supermarket about a mile-and-a-half away. A five minute drive to Midsomer Norton and you will find a range of local shops and a number of leading supermarkets. Just a 10 mile drive to Bath and you can enjoy city shopping in Regency grandeur, with designer fashion boutiques, leading department stores and antiques and jewellery shops. The new SouthGate centre offers more than 50 stores, while the weekly Green Park Station Market offers fresh local produce, flowers and local art, craft and second-hand stalls. A trip to Bristol offers impressive retail locations with Cabot Circus and Quakers Friars, Broadmead and not to forget the huge area at Cribbs Causeway just off the M5 junctions 16/17.

Taking time out

A home at High View offers you the choice to enjoy a quieter country life or the buzz of city attractions within about a half hour's drive. Paulton itself has more than 50 sports clubs and societies ranging from football, cricket and netball, to walking, canoeing and amateur dramatics, plus its own indoor swimming pool and four pubs. Locally there are two local nature reserves and the tiny Chivers Knoll woodland. Within a short drive you can enjoy the Grade two listed Mitton Lodge Gardens, take a steam ride on the East Somerset Railway, or explore the famous Cheddar Caves and Gorge. Stunning Wells Cathedral is within easy reach as is the Spa city of Bath with its Roman Baths and Pump Room, Royal Crescent and Abbey. A trip to Bristol offers yet more attractions and both cities offer a wide variety of nightlife with theatres, cinemas, restaurants, nightclubs and comedy venues.

Education

For families living at High View there are pre and primary schools within the village. Paulton's two pre-school nurseries take youngsters from aged two-and-a-half years, while the Paulton Infants Schools takes four to seven-year-olds and the Junior School caters for the sevens to elevens. There are three further primary schools within 1.5 miles of the village. For senior pupils aged 11- 18, there are two schools within two miles, both providing sixth form facilities and less than three miles away Norton Radstock College.

The scheme is subject to individual mortgage lender qualification and affordability criteria as prescribed by Homes England. The scheme is subject to you first obtaining approval from Sage before reserving a new home from us. Eligibility for the scheme may be withdrawn at any time prior to reservation. Sage may also require evidence of your financial ability to proceed with the purchase of a new home from us. Shares from 10% up to 75% of the new home are available. Prices advertised can represent up to a 75% share of the new home. Rent will be charged at 2.75% of the unacquired equity share and is reviewed annually in line with the year-on-year change to RPI in the preceding 12 months plus additional 0.5% and an annual fee of £195, payable monthly. The property will be sold on a shared ownership leasehold basis with a term of 990 years and a buildings insurance contribution is also payable. You will also be liable to pay managing agent costs plus an administration fee payable to Sage.
