Designing our homes
Our homes are carefully considered and designed so they can be evolved and adapted to meet the changing needs of the customer, the market and the environment.
The focus on climate change means that we must share in the responsibility to reduce carbon emissions, using products and technologies that are future proof, sustainable and bring maximum benefits to customers, communities and society as a whole.
This responsibility must be met while also recognising the challenge of creating quality designs and communities, ensuring affordability, meeting the supply demand and our customers' expectations.
We are committed to specifying and sourcing products and materials that are sustainable, have low environmental impact and are responsibly sourced. Within our Procurement Strategy we have developed an Ethical and Sustainability Policy that recognises the benefits of a long term trading relationship with our supply chain. Together we can ensure our materials are ethically sourced, that energy and water consumption is minimised and that our production and construction techniques are efficient and lean.
Waste is minimised and, where created, we maximise re-use or recycle opportunities. We meet with our supply chain on a regular basis, and over a number of years have innovated and researched practices that improve on these aims as well as looking strategically at the marketplace in which we work, as concerns about environmental impact and climate change increases.
