Karrie Bradshaw and her daughter Emilia enjoy their new lifestyle at Round House Park
Increasing numbers of buyers are moving away from rural village life and opting for the hustle and bustle of successful city centres. Norwich is just one of those property hotspots, where buyers are snapping up smart, contemporary homes to be close to the action.
Babywear designer Karrie Bradshaw has joined their ranks and now works on her clothes business Delilah Loves You from her brand new three bedroom townhouse at Bovis Homes' stylish Round House Park development, a thriving new community in Cringleford on the edge of Norfolk's premier city.
She lives there with 17-year-old daughter Emilia having moved from a small village in the county, and now feels that she has the best of both worlds.
Located just under three miles from the city centre, Karrie wanted a home which was situated in a buzzing community where they don't feel isolated, but can still nip into the countryside whenever they want to.
She might not have wanted something quite as ritzy as her namesake, Sex & the City's Carrie Bradshaw, but Norfolk's Karrie did want a modern home, from which she and Emilia could enjoy the lifestyle that the city has to offer.
Karrie said: "It wasn't feasible to carry on living in the countryside with my daughter starting Norwich City College, wanting a part-time job and keen to spend most weekends with her friends, as any normal teenager would.
"I was keen to find a new home with great community spirit, leisure facilities, parking, and safe, convenient routes to public transport and we have the best of all worlds here at Round House Park. There are acres of recreational space at the development, whilst the Norfolk Broads and beach are only a short drive away. Yet the city centre is within easy walking distance or a short bus ride away and there is a stop just over the road from us.
"Norwich has so much selection when it comes to shopping, restaurants, bars, as well as very good schools and colleges. Round House Park and the city of Norwich are definitely where Emilia and I want to be now.
"There's fantastic community spirit at the development, with a residents' association, which has its own knitting club, organises curry nights and is in the midst of planning an event for the Jubilee. Although the development is very private, you don't feel cut off."
Chris Roads, Sales Operations Director at Bovis Homes, said: "Round House Park is a stepping stone to city living - purchasers are attracted to the lifestyle, community and location of the development. As a result, houses at the development are selling quickly."
