Proposal shock on first visit to new Flitwick home

A couple from Bedfordshire are celebrating a new home and an engagement after a very grand proposal - with a little help from Bovis Homes.
Darren Custance and Amy Jones first made contact with Bovis Homes sales advisor Marc Pearson last year, looking for a new home at Froghall Fields in Flitwick.
The couple reserved a four-bed 'Canterbury' house type when one became available off-plan, and with their new home nearing completion this spring, they arranged to visit the site to see the house for the first time. It was then that Darren hatched his plan to propose.
"Darren called us in advance to explain that he wanted to propose to Amy and to do it at their new home," explained Marc. "He had been planning it for some time but wanted to wait until they could share the moment in their new home. We were very happy to help make this a reality and arranged for the couple to visit when their house was nearing completion. We gave Darren prior access to the property to prepare and we all waited nervously, hoping that Amy didn't suspect anything!"
On the day, the plan went without a hitch. The couple toured their new home, ending in the master bedroom where, on a floor scattered with rose petals, Darren dropped to one knee and popped the question. Without hesitation, Amy said yes.
"It was an amazing moment, I didn't suspect a thing and I'm so excited to start this next chapter of our lives in our brand new home," said Amy. "We'd like to thank Bovis Homes for their help in making the proposal come true and we can't wait to move in."
Marc added: "We're delighted for the happy couple, and their story just demonstrates that a house is much more than just bricks and mortar. We look forward to seeing them start this next chapter of their lives at Froghall Fields."
Darren and Amy moved into Froghall Fields to start their new life together at the end of June.
