The quality of the landscaping work at one of Bovis Homes South East's flagship developments has been rewarded with a prestigious national award.
Cambourne has been taking shape over the last 15 years but standards are as high as ever at the Cambridgeshire town, reflected by a silver award for Landscape Design at the recent What House Awards.
Won jointly with Taylor Wimpey, the award reflects the high standard of design at Cambourne, with attractive landscaping giving it a strong sense of community.
The report from the judges noted: "We were impressed by Cambourne's sense of place and the relaxed, informal character of the villages of Great Cambourne, Upper Cambourne and Lower Cambourne.
"Cambourne is a bustling community. It is a good example of how existing biodiversity can be protected and new wildlife interest created.
"The atmosphere was relaxed and rural and it was interesting to see how Cambourne and its innovative landscape had matured."
South East Managing Director Nick Twine said: "When you are involved with a development day-in, day-out for 15 years it's easy to lose sight of just how impressive it is.
"But Cambourne is one of our proudest achievements in the South East and to have it recognised in this way, in a highly competitive category at the What House Awards, is credit to everyone involved in the work there."
Bovis Homes are currently building a broad mix of houses at The Green in Cambourne, ranging from two-bedroom properties for £194,950 to detached four bedroom family homes for £249,950. For more information phone 0845 2302227 or go to www.bovishomes.co.uk
