Getting around
Tetbury is in the heart of the picturesque Cotswolds, just 12 miles from Junction 17 of the M4 that links Bristol and South Wales to London. Junction 13 of the M5 is some15 miles, giving access to the Midlands and South West. Cirencester, described as the 'capital of the Cotswolds', is 10 miles north on the A433. The stunning Regency city of Bath is about 25 miles, and the Regency town Cheltenham 30 miles. For rail passengers Kemble train station is less than eight miles and runs direct services to London Paddington (taking around an hour and a half) as well as Swindon, Cheltenham and Reading.

A trip to the shops
Tetbury is renowned for its array of antique shops and there are also specialist food shops, boutiques, jewellery and fashion. The Highgrove shop sells a range of items, many inspired by the beautiful gardens at nearby Highgrove, the home of HRH Prince Charles. The ancient Market House plays host to twice monthly markets run by local craftspeople and traders and there's a supermarket just half a mile from Quercus Grange. Nearby Cirencester offers a great range of independent boutiques, High Street shops and a House of Fraser department store, as well as a Waitrose supermarket.

Taking time out
Tetbury is steeped in history and boasts many listed buildings including the pillared, Market House built in 1655. The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin with its magnificent spire is one of the tallest in the UK. You can wander down the cobbled Chipping Steps past the charming old weavers' cottages, an area where annual 'Mop Fairs' have been held since Medieval times. Visit nearby Highgrove Gardens, created by HRH Prince Charles, or Chavenage House an Elizabethan manor house. Enjoy an inspiring stroll around the 600 acre Westonbirt Aboretum with its 18,000 trees and shrubs and make sure you witness the annual Tetbury Woolsack Races that celebrate the town's wool heritage.

Education
St Mary's Primary School caters for children from 5 to 11, and has a Toddler Group for pre-school children. Sir William Romney's School is a secondary school specialising in creative arts and there's the Deer Park School comprehensive at Cirencester. Marling School and Stroud High School, offer a grammar school education for boys and girls respectively, at Stroud, while Cirencester College caters for students from 16 years to adult. The independent Westonbirt School takes girls aged from 11 to 18.

From Cirencester

  • Head south west on the A433
  • Follow the A433 London Road for approximately 9 miles to Tetbury
  • On approaching Tetbury turn left onto the Cirencester Road, following signs for Tetbury Industrial Estate
  • Quercus Grange will be found on the right.

From M4 Junction 17

  • Take the A429 towards Cirencester
  • Follow the A429 for approximately 6 miles travelling through Corston and past Malmesbury
  • Turn left onto the B4014 for 4.5 miles, following the Tetbury signs into the town centre via Silver Street, Market Place and Chipping Street
  • Continue onto the Cirencester Road for approximately half a mile
  • Quercus Grange will be found on the left.
