Getting around

Junction 14 of the M6 is less than two miles away which takes you north to Newcastle-under-Lyme and to go south towards Birmingham, Junction 13 is just four miles away. The town's railway station is just a mile away and provides links to all major UK cities, including Birmingham, London and Manchester. For air travel Birmingham International Airport is approximately forty miles away, while Manchester Airport is a fifty two mile trip.

A trip to the shops

Leave the car at home and enjoy a leisurely stroll from St George's Park along a tree-lined path and within minutes you can be in the heart of Stafford's attractive town centre, with its many shops, boutiques, bistros, restaurants and pubs. Visit the popular Guildhall Shopping Centre that blends modern design with historic buildings and offers forty retailers under one roof, while the High Street has both leading department stores and smaller local shops - all less than a mile's walk from your door. There is also a choice of supermarkets in the area and if you fancy a major shopping expedition Birmingham's Bullring Centre is only thirty miles away with more than one hundred and sixty shops and twenty five restaurants all under one roof.

Taking time out

Stafford and the local area have many historic buildings and places of interest for residents and visitors alike. Enjoy the River Sow running through scenic Victoria Park, visit Stafford Castle, or marvel at the Ancient High House, said to be the largest timber framed town house in England. Just seven miles away is Shugborough Hall, the only complete working historic estate in the UK, while Cannock Chase, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a short trip south of the town and there's regular horse racing at nearby Uttoxeter. For local leisure activities Stafford has its own Gatehouse Theatre, a mobile skate park, golf courses, a common and several sports and fitness centres.
