Getting around
Epsom is less than 17 miles from the centre of London and its train station runs direct services to London Victoria taking just 45 minutes, as well as to Waterloo. The A24 links the town to London to the north and to Leatherhead, Dorking, Horsham and the coastal resort of Worthing to the south. It also provides a direct link to Junction 9 of the M25 which is about four miles south west of Bailey Gardens. For air travel Heathrow is 30 miles via the M25 and M4.

A trip to the shops
Epsom's thriving town centre - spread around its iconic clock tower - has a wide range of both local shops and national stores. The Ashley Centre offers more than 50 outlets with a mix of independent and high street shops including Marks & Spencer, Waitrose and House of Fraser. There's also a retail park and a choice of supermarkets. The City of London is a shoppers paradise offering everything from leading, world-famous stores and brands, to specialist food, clothing and vintage markets.

Taking time out
Renowned as home to Epsom Downs Racecourse and one of the earliest spa towns, Epsom lies within the London Metropolitan Green Belt. Its scenic, 900 acre Epsom Downs is popular with walkers and cyclists. For other sports and fitness there's the Rainbow Leisure Centre as well as golf and polo clubs. For theatre-lovers the Epsom Playhouse hosts regular drama, music, film and comedy events and there's also a multiplex cinema. For youngsters Hobbledown Farm Park is also close. The historic Assembly Rooms in the High Street, was built as a meeting place in the late 17th century when Epsom was a leading health spa.

Education
There are several primary schools close to Bailey Gardens the nearest being Stamford Green Primary School, while Epsom Primary and Nursery are also within easy reach. For senior pupils there's Blenheim High School, Epsom and Ewell High School, for boys Glyn School is a comprehensive and Nonsuch High School for Girls is a grammar school for females aged 11 - 19. Nescot (North East Surrey College of Technology) is Epsom's college of further and higher education, offering courses for all ages and the University for the Creative Arts has a campus in Epsom. Independent schools include Epsom College, founded in 1853 and Ewell Castle School.

From Leatherhead and M25

  • Take the B2122 Epsom Road out of Leatherhead
  • At the Knoll roundabout go straight over on to the A24
  • Continue for approximately three-and-a-half miles, passing Ashtead Hospital
  • Go straight ahead at the traffic lights
  • Once in the town centre turn left onto West Street the B280
  • After three-quarters-of-a mile turn right, (second exit),
  • onto Chertsey Lane
  • At roundabout take the second exit onto Ethel Bailey Close
  • Follow the signage to Bailey Gardens.

From Sutton

  • Take the A232, heading West
  • Turn left onto Ewell By-pass/A24
  • Continue on A24
  • Turn right onto Ashley Avenue/A24
  • Continue straight onto South Street/A24
  • Turn left onto West Street B280
  • At roundabout take the second exit onto Chertsey Lane
  • At roundabout take the second exit onto Ethel Bailey Close
  • Follow the signage to Bailey Gardens.
