Getting around


Biddulph is in an ideal location close to Derbyshire's Peak District National Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural beauty, but also benefits from convenient access to junction seventeen of the M6 at Sandbach, less than twelve miles away. The neighbouring Cheshire town of Congleton is just five miles and the city of Stoke-on-Trent approximately twelve miles. Trains run to Manchester and Stoke, from nearby Congleton and for air travellers Manchester International Airport is less than a twenty five mile drive.

A trip to the shops

Uplands Mill is well-placed for local shops in Biddulph to meet your every day needs and Macclesfield's Grosvenor Centre just thirteen miles north has more than thirty High Street and independent stores. Stoke-on-Trent is only a twelve mile drive and offers great city centre shopping and world famous pottery outlets. An hour's drive to Manchester will give you top retailers such as Selfridges, House of Fraser and Harvey Nichols and in the city's Arndale centre you'll find two hundred and forty stores on a one mile circuit, featuring some of the biggest names in fashion.

Taking time out

Close to Uplands Mill is the National Trust's Biddulph Grange Garden, a stunning Victorian garden, which adjoins the seventy three acre Biddulph Grange Country Park, with its historic woodlands, meadows, lake and ponds. Just a few miles away is Rudyard Reservoir, built in 1800 and also close by is Little Moreton Hall, a moated 15th century half-timbered manor house and Grade 1 listed building owned by the National Trust. Enjoy a day's walking in the the beautiful Peak District National Park, less than twenty miles away. Biddulph itself has many pubs, restaurants and cafes, its own Biddulph Valley Leisure centre and a huge choice of community clubs and associations.

Education

There are four first schools within a mile of Uplands Mill, taking pupils from aged three to nine-years-old, with two middle schools, for pupils aged nine to thirteen. For senior pupils Biddulph High School, takes thirteen to eighteen year olds, providing sixth form education and there is a further four sixth form centres within a five mile radius.
