Protecting the environment

Managing our environmental responsibilities effectively is a strong feature in our CSR strategy requiring us to protect, conserve and enhance the environment. Achieving compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements is not sufficient to meet the environmental aspirations of Bovis Homes.

Our approach, consistent with BS EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, is to identify and manage environmental aspects and impacts in a holistic and responsible fashion.

Our environmental evaluations commence when considering land acquisition and the subsequent development of proposals. We utilise internal and external specialists to carry out environmental assessments on our behalf to ensure all biodiversity issues are identified and appropriate conservation measures taken. Their advice is followed to protect, conserve and enhance any wildlife, ecology, flora, fauna, watercourses, woodland or historic features.

We consider that environmental matters rank equally with health and safety, finance, marketing, personnel and commercial requirements; they are fundamental to the long term success of Bovis Homes.
